The Advent of Hope – Advent Day 3

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:22-25 NIV

O Lord, In Your mercy, grant us the necessary grace to live for the time being with a divine hope that prohibits us from despairing of this life, discourages us from growing accustomed to this life, and keeps us from demanding identity from this life. For the time being, we live here in the middle between Your Advents, grateful that we are not where we once were, longing for Where we will one day be.
